Electro-Mechanical Technology Training Program (EMTTP)
Electro-Mechanical Technology Training is a technical training curriculum in the areas of electricity, electronics and electro-mechanical technology. Selected students enrolled in the academy receive industry standard training covering basic electrical concepts, electrical math (scientific notation), and scientific laws of force and motion. Students develop decision-making skills and are challenged in the application of knowledge, technology-related mathematics, reading, writing, and vocabulary, electrical/electronic circuit configuration and diagnosis, specialized tool usage and a host of other relevant and practical topics. Students receive instruction in safety requirements and demonstrate sound safety practices. Field trips and guest speakers will give students first hand insight to the wide range of industry applications and career possibilities.
Students engage and hone their critical thinking and problem-solving skills during design and construction projects of alternative forms of transportation such as magnetic levitation transportation, electric powered single passenger cars, and electronic two-wheeled transportation. Additionally, designing and constructing a balancing robot and robotic arm will allow students to explore robotics and its application in today’s society.
