Spring Annual College Tour
March 2009

Thirty-nine students in grades 11th through 12th participated in the TransTech Academy Annual College Tour, March 15 -22, 2009 to nine colleges and universities in South Carolina, Alabama and Florida. They were accompanied by four chaperones, Mrs. Shirley C. McCall, Academy Coordinator, Ms. Emma L. Stephens, Academy Manager, Mr. Robert Richards and Major Conrado Notyce. Students had an opportunity to visit and tour various colleges/universities, speak to admissions and financial aid counselors and in some cases apply for admissions on the spot. Schools included Benedict College, Allen University, Alabama State University, Tuskegee University, Florida A & M University, Florida State University, Bethune Cookman College, Daytona State University and Hersing University. The Spring College Tour has been offered to students in TransTech Academy since 1992. Over the past three years students have been able to visit more than 30 colleges and universities outside of the Washington metropolitan areas. Emphases Is placed on transportation and engineering related programs at the various colleges.
